Will this work for a 44" x 108" Granite tabletop?
Testudo Style Metal Table Base
The granite tabletop is 44" x 108" with a 2.5" flat edge. do you include a rectangular steel support at the top of your base to distribute uniformly the weight of the tabletop and avoid a potential break of the stone?

As long as the base is sized appropriately, the base will have no problem holding the weight of a 44" x 108" stone top. This style base comes with reinforced plates on top of each end, which vary in size based on the overall dimensions of the base. We can add a rectangular top frame to provide a more uniform support to the top, but that would be an additional charged depending on the details.
